My Dear wife ANJALY [ANN] & I were a Child-Less Couple 4 many years.
We didn’t adopt any Human-child due 2 our own Personal reasons.
God gave us COMMANDO as our own, 4 legged, DOBBERMANN SON.
Mr.Bapat an author of a book “SAUNRAKSHAK SOBATI” [meaning ‘Protective Companion’] has written “You can ‘BUY’ Love, if you ‘BUY’ a DOG-PUP”.
We, my wife & me, did just that & bought “love-“COMMANDO” 4 a sum of INDIAN Rs. 3000/- then.
COMMANDO was born on 10Feb1998 in MUMBAI, INDIA.
We brought COMMANDO home 2 ‘BADLAPUR’ a suberb near Mumbai, on 28th Mar.1998.
Being devoted & loving parents we took our dear COMMANDO everywhere in our ‘Tata-Sumo’ Jeep & were Proudly “flaunting” him as our own SON.
Our 1st BLUNDER : I kept him in a Kennel, in BADLAPUR, when I went 2 SINGAPORE 2 fetch my ailing wife. COMMANDO nearly died due 2 ‘Tick-Fever’, in early 1999,but was saved by a Vet. from Ambernath, & thanks 2 GOD, we 3 were 2g 1ce again.
My wife’s & my relationship with our son became more stedfast & instead of spending 99% of our time 2g; we started 2 spend all 100% time 2g. We even took COMMANDO with us & attended a family marriage; & on one stray occasion, my wife kept him company in our van [Tata-Sumo] 4 d night.
COMMANDO became my ‘Father-Reincarnet’ {My dad had left 4 d Heavenly Abode on 19 Nov. 1994}.
COMMANDO converted All d People; People who were afraid of DOGs started 2 LOVE COMMANDO 1st & then ALL Other DOGs too ; People who came into closer contact with him GOT RECOGNITION as Family Members, viz. DADA[Elder Brother], UNCLE [he has a “AUNTY-MUMMY” & a “UNCLE-DADY”],TAI{Elder Sis.}, &&& Grand-Ma & a ‘BAL’( Child) too.
All said & done COMMANDO became a ‘Neuclious’ of HIS-LOCAL-UNIVERSE.
Our 2nd car “WAGON-R” was bought by my wife keeping in view COMMANDO’s space & other requirements.
There still is a bed 4 him in each of our 3-4 rooms & d whole house[Exception—d Master Bed; where a mosquito curtain is ‘permanantly on disply & tied 2 d M.B. corner posts. ], is still COMMANDO’s
Children still call me ‘COMMANDO-uncle’[& in this sorrowfull situation I still smile when some very poor, small & uneducated kids call me “Tommy”] & I don’t know how 2 hide my tears.
The STRESS & STRAIN of my SINs { ENTIRELY MINE ONLY=of SUHAS TRIMBAK TAMBE} , on our dear COMMANDO proved 2 b too much 4 a SIMPLE SAINT LIKE COMMANDO , & Without any Prior Warning etc. COMMANDO PASSED AWAY on his “NIRVANA” on 15th Jan 2007, THE BLACKEST MON. mn. at @ 6.55-7am{on “KINKRANT” day-1 day after “MAKHAR SANKRANT”}.
He was ‘SUPPOSED’ 2 b living 4 atleast 17-18 years, But went 2 UNITE With GOD in less than 9 years of age.
Now my Poor Dear wife & me are ‘LIFE-LESS’& once again “CHILD-LESS”.
